Speaker: Rev. Michael Dowd

Rev. Michael Dowd was a bestselling eco-theologian, TEDx speaker, and pro-science, pro-future advocate. Since April 2002, he, and his wife (UU science writer and fellow climate activist Connie Barlow) traveled North America delivering talks in some 500 UU congregations, summer camps, and minister retreats, as well as for other religious and secular groups.

Their pro-science ministry was featured as the cover story of our national membership magazine, the UU World, in the spring of 2006. They’ve also been featured nationally both in print and on television. Michael and Connie supported their itinerant ministry mostly by selling books and DVDs. Rev. Michael and Connie were honored as “UU Religious Humanists of the Year” at the 2016 General Assembly in Columbus, Ohio. Rev. Michael passed away in October 2023.
