Bob Scott is a former mayor of Franklin who served four terms as mayor and 12 years as a council member. He was the Chair of the NC Mayor Association and a member of the executive council of the NC League of Municipalities.

Bob holds membership in the ACLU, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, the American Humanist Association, and several other organizations dealing with Democracy and protection of the First Amendment. He is a strong backer of stricter gun control legislation.

Bob is a graduate of Western Carolina University, has served in the South Carolina National Guard and the Army Reserve, has been in Franklin since 1967, and is currently a free-lance writer and photographer.
