Italian Balconies: Reflections on Connection

If we were to make a list of what keeps a human healthy, it would include sleep, physical activity, wholesome food, clean water — and connection to others. We are wired for connection, but we’re also more isolated and lonely than ever. This cultural moment has been named a national epidemic in the U.S., and a global health threat – all of it leading to harmful, dangerous individual and collective results. We gather together today rooted in the antidote – connection & community. As the saying goes, if you want to move fast, go alone – if you want to move far, go together.
