4. Service Week 12/20/2020

Sunday Service Information

Hometown Holiday Gathering

Join us on Sunday, December 20th at 6pm for our special Holiday Program

What a year it has been! With social distancing and Covid-19 many of us are missing our families and warm holiday celebrations. That's why we've put together a special evening of performances by... ourselves! This week's service will feature live and pre-recorded songs, stories, poems, and more. Plenty of space for impromptu sharing, and community participation. This week's session will not be broadcast to facebook -- it's just for Zoom. Be sure to mark your calendar and join us in celebration of the season, our beloved community, and the drawing to a close of 2020.

A Hometown Holiday Gathering

Winter solstice has always been a time of celebration and community engagement. As we approach the longest nights of the year, cultures around the world celebrate with festivals of lights, love, and merry-making. You are cordially invited to an open mic holiday gathering with UU Franklin. Please come to a special evening service and share a story, poem, song, memory or smile with us. Click here to reserve your time with the Master of Ceremonies

Things are Happening

As we are moving our broadcast capabilities to the fellowship, a counter top was needed to support our control equipment.  A counter top was created by Tom and Donn from a counter once owned by Henry.  Just another way that Henry will remain a part of our fellowship.

Game Night Saturday, December 19th, 6:30pm

Listening Suggestions

Are we ready for some cool Christmas carols?
The King's Singers do that so well.

Pastorals like last week's are found in almost all Baroque Christmas works.
The Messiah for one.  Here is my favorite from Bach's Christmas Oratorio
After all Silent Night is a pastoral in a siciliana rhythm!!

How about you?  What is your favorite Christmas carol??  Send it to Shalimar Anderson <chairofcomm@uufranklin.org>

A UU Funny

A UU board member sheepishly confided to a Presbyterian friend, "At times, our minister holds discussion with himself!  It is really disconcerting."  The friend replied, "No worries! Our minister talks to himself all the time not realizing it.  He thinks we are listening."
