Eco Friday: Improving Home Energy Performance
Is your home chilly in the winter? Is it hot and sticky in the summer? Are your power bills through the roof? Maybe it’s time for some insulation between you and the roof!
Efficiency is key: We will take a look at basic ways to make your house more comfortable throughout the year with a special focus on the upcoming winter months. Some topics we will cover include air sealing, insulation, windows, heating and cooling systems, with a brief focus on renewable energy and winterization of second homes. This will be followed by a question and answer session so come prepared!
Presentation by James Pader, owner of Winter Sun Construction, LLC, an award-winning, green building company located in Franklin, NC. James holds multiple green building certifications and is a Licensed General Contractor.

Eco-Friday – “Got Mold” Friday, September 2nd. Kip Amundrud of Highlands based A Healthy Home NC will speak on what you can do to control mold and create a healthy breathing environment in your home. If you have abundant moisture in your crawlspace or basement, you probably have mold, the worst indoor air pollutant today.
