Standing on the Side of LoveStanding on the Side of Love:
Immigration As A Moral Issue

Beginning Sunday, October 16, the Franklin Fellowship will offer a discussion of the 2010-2014 UUA Study/Action Issue, “Immigration as a Moral Issue”.  Background reading will be The Death of Josseline by Margaret Regan.

Registration for the discussion which includes purchase of the book begins September 11 and extends through September 18.  The four-session series will be held on the third Sunday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. from October through January.

Why should UUs be concerned and engaged with this issue?  The Rev. Peter Morales, UUA President, has said, “As a religious people who affirm human compassion, advocate for human rights, and seek justice, we must never make the mistake of confusing a legal right with a moral right.”  Participants in the discussion will be able to explore both moral and legal aspects of the issue.

Get over the idea that only children should spend their time in study. Be a student so long as you still have something to learn, and this will mean all your life.
